are creating a younger generation of teachers to be active
in NEA–NH!"

the NEA–NH our professional organization.
What we do . . .
- We present workshops to provide
professional training to our peers and enlighten experienced
educators and supervisors
of our needs.
- We provide social opportunities
for new teachers to start professional relationships
and support systems.
- We attend NEA–NH conferences and events to represent
our generation of teachers.
- We plan and implement projects
that help teachers in their beginning years. For example
the NEA–NH New Teacher Calendar and Handbook.
- We involve our members in NEA–NH.
Who we are . . .
- We are educators in our first through
fifth year of teaching.
- We teach in different parts of
New Hampshire. Usually two members from each region.
- We represent a variety of teaching
experiences from elementary school, middle school, high
school, specialists, special education and more.
New
Teacher Committee Members
Jared Cassedy
Jared Cassedy graduated from the University of New Hampshire - Durham
and is going into his third year of teaching at Windham Middle School.
He teaches sixth through seventh grade music appreciation and directs
the sixth through eighth grade concert bands, the WMS Jazz Band, and
the WMS Honors Band. He is also the advisor for the school's tennis
team. Outside of school Jared directs the Windham Community Band
and teaches private piano and clarinet lessons. He has also been
the musical director for many collegiate and semi-professional musical
productions in the area. Teaching music is one of Jared's greatest
passions where he hopes to continue showing students the importance
of music in their lives.
Dana Foulds
Dana is a second year Social Studies teacher at Winnisquam Regional High
School in Tilton, NH. At her high school she is currently the co-advisor
of the student council. Dana moved to New Hampshire from Connecticut
where she completed an internship and student teaching at Danbury High
School. She currently loves living in New Hampshire because of the
beautiful scenery and laid back lifestyle. In her free time she likes
hiking with her dog Tyson and exploring different parts of the state.
Amy Gilfoyle
Amy is currently in her third year as a fourth grade teacher at Pelham Elementary
School. She attended Providence College, where she obtained her elementary education
and special education certification. She is now working toward her masters in
reading at Rivier College and living in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Emily York
Emily received her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from West Virginia
University in 2005. After graduation, she returned home to Exeter where she
is currently teaching a full-day kindergarten program at Main Street School.
Emily was recently married this past July and is enjoying every minute of
married life. Not only is she on the Executive Board of her local union, but
she is also the professional development representative for her school. Emily
looks forward to sharing teaching ideas with new teachers from across the state.
