NH School Jobs

The New Hampshire Foundation for Teaching and Learning (NHFTL) was created in 1996 by NEA - New Hampshire to improve public education, teaching and student learning. Its programs are open to all public school teachers and students in NH.

The New Hampshire Foundation for Teaching and Learning established The Children's Fund to help a child obtain items or services essential to success in school, including clothes, medical care, food, transportation or related services not provided by another agency. Our assistance is intended to meet immediate or short-term (not ongoing) needs. The child must be a pre-school or public school student. Any professional who works with such a child may apply to the Fund on behalf of the child. Education professionals spend their days with children, serving their needs and stimulating their minds. Often these professionals are the first to see situations where the student's basic needs are not being met.

All assistance should directly benefit the child. The level of assistance is based on need and availability of funds and all requests are handled in confidence and without delay. We feel that a child's physical, social and emotional needs should not stand in the way of success in school.

To make a request for a grant, you just need to fill out a simple application. There are a couple rules that need to be followed: (1) the request must come from a professional (not a parent) who works with the child: and (2) the child must be eligible for free/reduced lunch and be eligible for Healthy Kids. To receive the application, you may email Nancy Bricchi at nbricchi@nhnea.org or call her at (603) 224-7751 ext. 350 to request that the form be mailed or faxed to you. Your request is usually processed within a couple weeks upon receipt of the completed request application. Most administrative costs of the Fund are paid by NEA-NH. This assures you that nearly 100% of your contributions reach our students in need. We have responded to requests from members and professionals for aid in a wide variety of circumstances.

New Hampshire Foundation for Teaching and Learning is proud to have NEA-New Hampshire, Northeast Delta Dental and The Horace Mann Companies as corporate sponsors. Northeast Delta Dental is a new sponsor for The Children's Fund, but has been with NHFTL for several years as a sponsor for another program. This is the second year with Horace Mann as a sponsor. They spearhead a couple fundraisers, one of which is the Annual Horace Mann - NEA-New Hampshire NHFTL Children's Fund Golf Classic. This year it will be held on Thursday, July 24th at Candia Woods Golf Links, Candia, NH. We would like to thank Horace Mann Companies for making these events a huge success.

Supported by sponsors and donations, The New Hampshire Foundation for Teaching and Learning is a tax-exempt organization under the provisions of IRC 501(c)(3) and contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
